Circus Open Call | Ensaios de Circo – LINK

The international call to participate in Ensaios de Circo 25 in Portugal is open from 6th to 20th September!

Ensaios de Circo is an artistic residency program at the Clube de Circo Contemporâneo space in Porto. In addition to providing creation and rehearsal place, this program includes technical, communication and financial support for several projects that are presented to the public in an open rehearsal format. This activity seeks to stimulate the creation of contemporary circus and also establish contact between creators, the public and programmers in a relaxed and constructive environment.

For this open call we’ll provide one month-long artistic residency, from March 17th to April 15th, with all expenses covered for a team up to 3 people of any nationality with legal residence of a Creative Europe Country (check the list*).

Ensaios de Circo is organised by Erva Daninha a structure financed by República Portuguesa – Cultura I DGARTES – Direção-Geral das Artes. This special edition its also support of Culture Moves Europe project, funded by the European Union and implemented by the Goethe-Institut.

Conditions:

– 30 days residency for up to 3 people at the Clube Circo Contemporâneo from March 17 to April 15;

– 1 open rehearsal performance, 15 to 30 minutes, in CCC on April 12th;

– Be available to give a masterclass/lab during the process open to the artistic community;

– 1000€ financial support;

– Travels, meals and accommodation covered for a team of up to 3 people (with Culture Moves Europe Conditions standards);

– Communication (photos and vídeo), technical and lighting support;

Notes:

– The 3 people can be circus performers, creators, external view, musicians, etc;

– Teams with members from different Creative Europe Countries* can apply (excluding Portugal residents);

– The members can be of any nationality (incluiding Portuguese or outside Europe) as long as they are legal residents of a Creative Europe Country*;

– Are considered not eligible:
Participants who do not fulfil the previous points; who have already received a Culture Moves Europe mobility grant, as ‘participant’ of a residency project; who have a mobility grant under the Individual Mobility Action for the same project, same purpose, and same period.

– We don’t guarantee single rooms;
– We don’t provide feedback on non-selected projects;
