Virulana is an act of body memory, a painting in motion that, through curly hair, whispers what has been denied and celebrates what has been recovered. Through acrobatics, painting and movement, a woman unearths the silenced gesture of wanting to be different. It’s not just her hair that breaks free, it’s everything she’s had to hide to be accepted.
