Lab artistic mentoring in circus creative processes with ANNA PASCUAL – june 2 to 6, 2025 – CED
Starting from each personal project, we go through the different stages of a circus artistic creation. We begin by conceptualizing the artistic project, analyzing the starting point of the creative act in each case in order to maintain coherence between the idea and the staging. On stage/in space, we present original material and, through group analysis, enrich it or increase the complexity of the scenic proposal. Throughout the entire process, we ask ourselves, reflect, and identify the role that technique plays within the piece, understanding circus technique as a deeply intrinsic component of the artistic proposal.
Lab cyrcense body with ALAN SENCADES – November 25 to 29, 2024 – CED
The “Cyrcense Body” workshop is aimed at students and artists with prior experience in Cyr wheel and seeks to expand the possibilities of body expression using the apparatus. During this gathering, participants will explore different technical approaches based on three axes: manipulation, flight, and discontinuous movement. The goal is to promote the relationship between body and apparatus, enhancing creativity and fluidity in the use of the Cyr wheel.
Lab screaming body with DANIEL SEABRA – may 25 and 28 (Trengo 24) – CED
A collective suspension rehearsal that, through alternating exercises on the ground and in suspension, invites all participants to experience a process in the creator’s line of work. The absence of movement as a revolution within a body—a raw body in search of fragility. Recognizing fatigue and using it as a generator. Resistance, continuity, and awareness are key words in this process. This workshop is not an aerial acrobatics technique training, but such practice is necessary for participation.
This DANIEL SEABRA lab is part of the “Forças Combinadas” residency, supported by the European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists – EFFEA, an initiative of the European Festivals Association (EFA), co-funded by the European Union.

Lab advanced Trengos with ELEONORA DALL´ASTA [IT/PAN] – june 27, 2024 – CED
A class where we learn to build and create a movement practice using harnesses in the air, on the ground, and between the two. Focusing on how suspension is generated by our body through movement and the interpretation of space and surrounding objects.
ELEONORA is an aerial and movement artist from Italy who grew up in Latin America from an early age. She holds a bachelor’s in Contemporary Circus from the National Circus School in England (Circus Space), a master’s in Contemporary Circus from DOCH University of the Arts in Stockholm, and a degree in Media and Communication from the University of Panama. She is the director of El Cuarto Rojo, the first circus studio/space in Panama, where she has been teaching aerial and circus disciplines since 2012. She is also the director of Panama Aérea and Plataforma Circo, two labs that explore research and development in creation across a wide range of circus disciplines.
Workshop hula hoops with SYLVAIN JULIEN – march 3, 2024 – CED
Who hasn’t stood in the middle of a hoop, wiggling their hips and trying to keep it up? Beyond preconceived ideas about gymnastic bodies, hoop games—when smartly guided—are accessible to everyone: men and women, parents and children, students or grandparents, as long as they’re willing! Fun and energetic, just watching someone play with hoops makes you want to try.
Hooping isn’t just hula-hooping: many other uses and gestures are possible and encouraged, all easy to perform with guaranteed instant impact! This is an introductory, ready-to-go workshop (I provide the hoops) that can be adapted to all audiences so that everyone can enjoy.
Training advanced Trengos com MAU JARA (Trengo 23) – CCC
In this intensive handstand training, we’ll explore balancing on hands from different perspectives. We’ll cover the basics of this skill but also dive into the handstand as a tool for creative processes. We’ll experiment with handstands on the floor, on people, on objects. And we’ll ask questions. Many questions. How can we connect with an audience when we’re looking at the floor? (Do we even need to look at the floor?) An invitation to all circus artists interested in venturing into this upside-down experience.
Here’s a bear. Now make it laugh workshop with RUI PAIXÃO (Trengo 22) – coliseu porto ageas

Aerial workshop with SAGE BACHTLER CUSHMAN (Mostra Estufa 22) – Teatro Campo Alegre
Creation, aerial choreography, dance trapeze, and act building – We’ll use everyday experiences and sensations to build and create choreographies with performative means aimed at touching the human essence.
MASTERCLASS with JOÃO PAULO dos SANTOS (Mostra Estufa 21) – Teatro Campo Alegre
Masterclass in contemporary circus with JOÃO PAULO dos SANTOS, part of the Mostra Estufa program. A mature and experienced look at the Chinese pole.
